Potential re-development of site behind and next to tanning salon

There is a revised proposal for the re-development of this site.  Let us know what you think about this proposal – tell us by 12th August 2022 and we may be able to influence the developer before they put in a planning application.

The images below show an impression of what is proposed and the current plans.

The applicant is now proposing a scheme of 9 flats plus the shop unit.  This revised proposal is now 3 storeys high, and has a slightly-improved ratio of parking spaces.

The earlier proposal for this site was Planning application 211791, put in at the end of 2021 for ‘Erection of 14 residential flats over 3 and 4 storeys, 1 shop unit … with associated infrastructure’.  The key points raised by our residents then were:

• Support for re-development of what is a rather run-down site
• Concern about the sheer scale of the proposed building
• Worries about loss of the parking on the site which to date has been used by the public

The application was refused, and that is why we have now been shown a revised proposal.
